...After months of delay, Northern Ireland Office has at last published its first draft order to legalize private male homosexual acts in the province. Male homosexuality first became an offense in 1885, when, during the small hours of the morning during a discussion of a bill to end child prostitution a legislator slipped through an amendment which outlawed all homosexual acts between men. Though the law was repealed in England and Wales in 1967, male homosexuality remained totally illegal in Northern Ireland (G.P.U.)...

The Gay Activists Alliance has filed a $10 million suit against the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for barring advertising space on buses for a poster carrying the slogan, "Someone in your life is gay." The groups says the transit agency violated a District of Columbia human rights law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of "Sexual orientation". The transit authority says the sign was barred under advertising guidelines that call for avoiding ads "which might be objectionable to a substantial segment of the community..."... Lillian Carter, President Carter's mother, has joined the ranks of Anita Bryant's growing army of critics, according to a recent interview published in the Washington Post.
"You remember Anita Bruant," Miss Lillian is quoted as saying. "I was crazy about her the sweetest little singer-and thought she should have won Miss America that year she didn't."
"But now I feel absolute disgust for her "because of her position against homosexuals, the Post article said.
"I was in New York at Studio 54that's that disco that's all the rageand I met so many of the nicest looking men. I was told later they were all gay."
The Post reporter, Henry Mitchell, then suggested to Miss Lillian that if she thought Bryant was wrong in her anti-gay stance, that she should tell Miss Bryant to shut up and mind her own business. Jijo "Oh. I did."
